How I Work

"It's the relationship that heals." ~ Irvin Yalom

Therapy is a process by which you can work through emotional difficulties and their impact on you,  as you work on your relationships with others.  My approach is to help you gain a deeper self-awareness from which you can begin to identify and understand the underlying thoughts and feelings that motivate you in relationship to yourself and others.  I aspire to help you find more connections within yourself,  others, and the world around you to help move past feelings of isolation and separation and live a more fulfilling life.

I work collaboratively in a warm, open and challenging way to help you better explore issues, wrestle issues and ultimately understand issues that are standing in the way of self acceptance, empowerment, and an overall sense of wellbeing.  My goal is to help you address anxiety, depression, panic, unhealthy relationships, and fear and move toward a more authentic self from which you can begin to experience a more meaningful life.  I believe that it is through our interactive relationship you will begin to gain greater insight into what occurs in all of your relationships, which in turn allows you to have the kind of relationships you want.

I work with adolescents, adults, and couples using a blend that brings together a relational and interpersonal psychodynamic approach, integrating cognitive behavioral techniques, developmental psychology, attachment theory and emotionally focused couple's theory as needed.
